in 1995 after a career as project engineer and designer for the consulting engineering firm of Stevens & Associates in Bethlehem, PA Les decided it was a time for a career change and started DesignPoint, Inc. During his years at Stevens & Associates, he provided interior architectural and design services for banking institutions, hotels, country clubs, restaurants and a number of corporate clients so DesignPoint was a natural transition.
Les is involved in all aspects of marketing the firm and overseeing the interior design process, from interior architecture to purchasing and tracking the ongoing status of our projects. Les is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Les served on the original Design Council for Durkan Patterned Carpet, Inc. to create innovative and dynamic hospitality carpet designs. Les served on the Office Space Task Force for the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation and has served on the Board of Directors of The Literacy Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Les attended St. Petersburg College, Florida.
Under Les’ leadership, DesignPoint has gained a national reputation for senior living interiors and has received a Gold Seal Award from the NAHB National Council of Senior Living for its design work on the $15M renovation project in Philadelphia at The Fountains at Logan Square. DesignPoint has also had projects featured in several national publications such as Hospitality Design magazine and AWI’s magazine Design Solutions. Les leads the firm in providing its clients with well-appointed interiors combined with efficient purchasing and procurement services. In his spare time, Les can be found on the golf course or shooting clay pigeons when not spending time with his family.
As Vice President and Senior Designer, Kathy is responsible for many of the award-winning designs produced by DesignPoint. She works very closely with our clients and specializes in developing the initial concept for our major projects.
Kathy has a strong background in architectural space planning, detailing and design that carries through to create wonderful spaces for commercial, hospitality and senior living facilities throughout the United States.
Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from the Univeristy of Maryland and an Associate Degree in Architecture from Northampton Community College. She has continued her education in lighting design thru the Illumination Engineering Society and senior living community design and trends thru sessions with LeadingAge and Environments for Aging.
Kathy loves taking care of her pet rabbits and spending time with her grandchildren and driving the back countryside with her husband in their corvette convertible.
Henry has worked in the Design industry for more than 25 years and joined the DesignPoint team as a Senior Designer and Project Manager in 2017. Prior to that, he spent 18 years at Spillman Farmer Architects leading their interiors department on a wide variety of projects across all market sectors. During Henry’s career, he has developed a particular interest in design for education, workplaces, and senior living clients – and these areas will continue to be a major focus in his role at DesignPoint. Many of Henry’s projects have gone on to be recognized for design excellence by professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, the Delaware Valley Green Building Council, and Associated Builders & Contractors. Henry is currently involved in managing the design upgrade program for 10 senior living communities in and around Rochester, NY, among other interior projects in both corporate and senior living.
Henry has earned a reputation among his clients for his ability to listen carefully and work with user groups to develop effective interior design solutions. His active involvement throughout each project has taught him to skillfully coordinate with architects, vendors, and tradespeople to deliver a successful project. These skills have made him invaluable to each of the projects he manages and have contributed to his value as a mentor to young designers and interns.
Henry’s passion for design and supporting the industry extends beyond the office. His hobbies include designing and building furniture with his son, working out, and traveling with his family.
Julie is one of our experienced senior designers and project managers that is an NCIDQ-Certified Interior Designer specializing in programming, space planning, and architectural detailing. She is adept at overseeing projects from initial concept through completion, and coordinates clients, contractors, and the design team through all phases of a project. With DesignPoint, Julie has managed corporate and senior living projects of varying scale, including a $10 million renovation of a CCRC in Bucks County. She strives to create innovative interiors within new or existing buildings and enjoys helping clients achieve their goals through design.
Julie studied Interior Architecture at Marywood University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her thesis studies focused on the psychology of place and the use of biophilic design in healing environments. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time in nature – hiking, kayaking, camping, and skiing.
After a time away raising a family, Beth has rejoined the firm and is one of our Senior Designers working on a variety of projects, including both hospitality and senior living. Prior to joining DesignPoint, Beth worked as an interior designer in an architectural firm in Washington, D.C. Her projects included both hospitality and high-end corporate office spaces.
Beth is NCIDQ certified and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a Business Concentration from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Interior Design from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Beth is able to manage projects from the initial conceptual design phase through installation. Beth’s strengths are in interior architectural design and space planning. She strives to understand the client’s objectives and make their vision a reality.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys photography and coaching girls lacrosse.
Following her passion for Interior Design, Kayla holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Design from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, NY, graduating Cum Laude. She also holds a Minor in Studio Art.
She is strongly focused on senior living design, from the initial concept process to the construction documentation and construction administration. She has a strong background for the graphical part of design, producing beautiful story-boards and presentation materials as a means of presenting her conceptual design process to clients.
Kayla possesses the ability to produce research-based design while at the same time meeting deadlines ever present in a high-pressure design firm. Kayla has been handling a variety of projects along with studying for her NCIDQ certification.
In her spare time, she enjoys running and riding bike. She has completed multiple half-marathons and many 5K’s. She loves spending time with her family and her rescued Greyhound, Johnny.
Cassidy started her professional career in commercial interior design after graduating from Arcadia University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts: Interior Design. Today she plays an active role in designing corporate, healthcare, and senior living spaces for DesignPoint. As an Interior Designer with the firm, she specializes in space planning, design development, architectural drafting, producing renderings, and coordination and project management. Prior to commercial interiors, Cassidy briefly worked with a residential designer where she was able to shape her management skills and build long-lasting working relationships with clients. Currently, she is in the process of earning her NCIDQ certification.
When Cassidy isn’t studying, she enjoys belly laughing with her daughter, visiting breweries, and perfecting the delicate craft of grilled cheese making.
Katherine is an experienced architectural designer and joined the firm to focus on clients’ space planning and space utilization. She assists with furniture design, finish selections, construction documents, 3-D renderings, and photo-realistic presentations.
Katherine earned her Bachelor of Architecture from New York Institute of Technology.
Katherine is an avid book collector and reader with an extensive library of her own. She loves traveling with her husband, who is a commercial airline pilot, and her two girls.
Ashley is a valuable member of our design staff and has a background in commercial design specializing in corporate and healthcare projects. Before joining DesignPoint she spent a year and a half as a designer for a local Knoll furniture dealer in the Lehigh Valley, Corporate Facilities. Her expertise in design includes space planning, furniture, and material selection. As a design professional Ashley offers a balance of creativity, collaboration and forward thinking with a structured, organized and detailed mentality.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Drexel University. Drawing inspiration from daily life she believes design can be found in anything you come across. When she’s not in the office she can often be found enjoying the outdoors and exploring the Lehigh Valley. Ashley plans to continue furthering her career by achieving her NCIDQ and LEED certification in the near future.
Carolyn is an experienced interior designer with a specialty in furniture, fixtures, equipment design, and planning. Her talents support DesignPoint’s portfolio of senior living clients. Carolyn has over 15 years of experience in the interior design industry. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She also holds an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Northampton Community College.
In her free time, she is an avid runner and swimmer and has participated in both marathons and half marathons for cancer fundraising. She enjoys reading, painting, and drawing as well as finding and restoring antiques she finds in her travels.
Jennifer interned at DesignPoint during her college years and joined the firm upon graduation. She assists in all phases of the design process including initial concept design, material selections, and construction documentation. She specifically enjoys using photoshop to produce design boards or alter spaces to tell a story. Jennifer works closely with our Senior Design Staff on all types of interior projects at DesignPoint.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys the outdoors and physical fitness. She loves to go skiing, running, or hiking, depending on the season.
Kim has been with DesignPoint since 2000 and before joining the firm, she was a purchasing agent for Designers II in Atlanta, GA. Kim coordinates projects and works closely with clients, vendors, design staff, and project coordinators. She provides timely and cost-effective purchasing solutions for our clients. Kim provides the knowledge and skill needed to manage the office and the purchasing portion of our projects from beginning to end. She brings broad experience in all aspects of business, including having worked as a showroom manager for a high-end European fabric company.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In her spare time, Kim is a board member of the Northwest Swim Club, Senior team parent for Liberty High School XC/Track & Field Booster Club, and chair person of Senior Publications Liberty Swimming and Diving Booster Club.
Lucy joined the firm as an account manager and is now responsible and manages all aspects of the firms accounting for the design and procurement departments. Her responsibilities include managing invoicing, receivables, payables, and human resource benefits.
She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. In the past, she worked as a budget manager for a major New York law firm, an accountant for a bank, and a sales rep for a kitchen countertop fabricator.
In her spare time, she enjoys working out, travel, and getting together with family and friends.
Wendy works closely with our accounting and procurement divisions assisting with all levels of the accounting and reconciliation process. She has an Associate Degree in Secretarial from Allentown Business School, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and has been in the administrative field for over 30 years here and Texas.
In the past, she has held administrative positions for a variety of businesses ranging from a Chemical Firm, Workers Compensation, and Health and Human Services.
In her free time, she works with her husband on vocal music and church projects. She is also an avid Genealogist.
In addition to an excellent full-time staff of designers and professionals, DesignPoint always maintains a strong Internship Program recruiting from many of the design schools throughout the United States and continues to support young designers enrolled in our local community college.
